Unless you really fancy the quick 2nd shot capability and plan to engage in IDPA/IPSC competition where this feature would make some difference, otherwise just for target shooting SRT is not necessary IMO. We also got certified SIG armorers to install it on-site for you. Generally, it would take about 1/2 lb off the SA trigger based on my experience. It's an interesting animal, but does take some getting used to. Place I work for (On Target) also got some SRT kits in for the P220/226/228/229 series. SRT (over the other options) is nice that it's factory, and some agencies will allow duty carry on it (doubting that would be a reason for the OP though). Installed, and dry fired like crazy and it feels good. Some guys went from pistols that had fired thousands of round and put a new part in. But I also cleaned up the parts before it went in the pistol. Also from what I've read, you're better off getting the QRT from a member on Sigforum or Bruce Grey's version of the SRT. The initial double-action has more of a 'crunchy' feel for it. So you should definitely try to find someone or somewhere that has a Sig you can try it out. I think the majority of the people who do have it, don't need it. Majority of the people who have had it seemed to like it.
